New Article Thought Process

Since I have slightly reorganized my magazine, I have to update my content. If I want to have a two-page spread, I need to have a page in between my editor's note and the spread. I have decided that I want to write an article about proper running footwear, since this is a topic I know a lot about, having run cross country and track. I could write about the types of pronation (the three ways in which people's feet land upon impact with the ground when running). This could serve as a guide to runners on what shoes they should buy.

I think this is a great article topic because I definitely could've used the information in my first year of running. When I run, I supinate, meaning that my feet land on the outside of my foot. This has caused a lot of ankle problems, which I believe were greatly added to by bad running shoes. After getting a new pair, I noticed that after rainy days when I had to switch to my old pair, my ankle pain resumed at a higher intensity. Therefore, I think that proper running shoes are just as important as padding/protective gear in other sports.
