CCR Filming

This weekend I will be attempting to complete my entire CCR. I spent all day making two parts of my CCR:

I used an app called Stop Motion Studio to make a stop motion video introducing my CCR, using a marker to introduce the CCR in writing. I used my whiteboard and had to duct tape my phone to my camera's tripod. My phone drifted a little at parts because the duct tape slid, but I was able to complete this part. Using the app, I took a series of pictures (172 of them!), adding a little more to each letter of text until I had a video of the writing magically appearing on the board.

I also had a fun idea of using the app to make a mini Lego movie for the background of my CCR. I have a lot of Legos from when I was little, and my brother has a few Lego sets that he's built. I looked in his collection and found a Delorean Back to the Future set. I was thinking of ways to relate this to fitness in some way, and I came up with the idea of making a character want to break a world record but not being fast enough. Then the character of Doc in the movie Back to the Future brings him back in time to beat the 1983 world record, since it's a lot slower than the current world record.

As the setting of my Lego scene, I used a table my mom made for me when I was little, which has flat Lego pieces glued onto it. I built a small house for my opening scene and selected a Storm Trooper and the Doc character from the Delorean Lego set. I also found three pieces of a street, which were very convenient to be used as my track. My dad helped me decorate the side with flags to make it look more like a World Championship.

I then used InShot to stitch together my two stop-motion videos and add subtitles of dialogue to the Lego video. Overall, it took me around two hours and 220 photos to complete the Lego mini film (which is only 44 seconds long)!
